Chase has added a new wellness offer for Sapphire cardholders: a statement credit covering a WHOOP annual membership. For Reserve cardholders, the credit covers the full cost of the top-tier WHOOP Life plan, effectively making the first year free, including the WHOOP MG device.

The Offer

Card Credit Minimum Spend Qualifying Plan
Sapphire Reserve $359 back $359 WHOOP Life annual only
Sapphire Preferred $100 back $149 Any WHOOP annual plan

The WHOOP Life annual plan costs exactly $359 and includes the WHOOP MG wearable device, a wireless charger, and access to all WHOOP health tracking features. With the Reserve credit, your out-of-pocket cost is $0 for the membership. You only pay sales tax and shipping.

The credit posts as a statement credit within 14 business days of purchase.

โš ๏ธ You must activate first โ€” no exceptions

Log in to your Chase account (web or app), find the WHOOP offer under Chase Offers, and click "Add to Card" before you make the purchase. Orders placed before activation are not eligible for the credit. This is the single most common mistake with Chase Offers.

Key Deadlines and Rules

Offer expires May 12, 2026. You need to both activate the offer and complete the purchase by this date.

One-time use per cardmember. You can only redeem this once.

Must purchase directly on WHOOP.com. Purchases through third-party sites, delivery services, or buy-now-pay-later services do not qualify.

U.S. purchases only.

Not available on Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business. Personal cards only.

Watch Out For: The $359 Minimum

The credit triggers on a purchase of $359 or more, including taxes and after any discounts. This matters because WHOOP referral codes exist that give $29.90 off. If you use a referral code and you're in a state with low or no sales tax, your total could drop below $359, and the credit won't trigger.

If you want to use a referral code

Make sure your final order total (after the discount, including tax and shipping) is still $359 or more. In states with higher sales tax, the math usually works out. If it doesn't, you can add expedited shipping or an accessory to push the total back over the threshold. If your state has no sales tax and free shipping applies, you may want to skip the referral code.

For Existing WHOOP Members

If you already have a WHOOP subscription, you have two options. You can use the credit at your renewal point if it falls before May 12, 2026. Alternatively, you can purchase an annual membership as a gift. If you're currently on the WHOOP One or Peak tier, you'd need to upgrade to WHOOP Life to qualify for the Reserve credit.

Other Sapphire Wellness Offers Currently Active

The WHOOP credit is part of a broader push by Chase into wellness partnerships on the Sapphire cards. If you haven't checked your Chase Offers recently, there are others available right now, all requiring activation before purchase.

Other active Chase Offers (as of February 2026)

Calm Premium: Reserve gets 100% back on a one-year subscription. Preferred gets 50% back. Expires March 31, 2026.

Function Health: Reserve gets 50% back after spending $365. Preferred gets 15% back. Expires March 31, 2026.

Impact on CSR's Annual Fee Math

With the Reserve's annual fee now at $795, every credit matters when evaluating whether the card is worth keeping. The WHOOP offer is a one-time $359 benefit โ€” it won't recur unless Chase renews the partnership. It doesn't change the long-term math, but it's meaningful for anyone running the numbers right now.

Combined with the $300 travel credit, Calm, and other Chase Offers you can realistically use, these partner credits are becoming a bigger part of how the Reserve justifies its fee.
